Chillidog brings the SSDs to the dog park
We're obsessed with speed and we're about to change the game for RapidWeaver users. Chillidog Hosting will become the first RapidWeaver host to utilize a 100% SSD architecture! These aren't your grandmother's SSDs either. These are some of the fastest enterprise drives available on the market.
What makes SSDs so good?
SSDs lack the moving parts of traditional harddrives. This allows information to be retrieved in a manner that is significantly faster magnetic media.
When will we this go live?
We will be starting this migration to the new "v3" architecture on Sunday, May 11 at 10am EST.
Will there be any downtime?
Unfortunately, yes. Downtime estimates are about 5 hours.
Is there anything else new?
Yes, I'm glad you asked! In addition to faster harddrives, we are also doubling the amount of RAM and increasing the number of CPUs that power our server. Overall, these will bring a huge improvement to everyone's site performance.
