Javabean Swag from FabricOnDemand.com

I am excited to say that it has finally arrived, a generous gift from my awesome friends over at FabricOnDemand. FabricOnDemand will take your patterns, logos or other designs and, with a little magic, turn them into awesome t-shirts, blankets, quilts etc. How good are their magic elves? Let's take a look with a classic 'unboxing.'

FabricOnDemand <3 RapidWeaver

Before we get to the unboxing, I want to take a minute and point out a couple of interesting facts about FabricOnDemand.

  • Their site is built entirely in RapidWeaver.
  • 0 engineers required. The entire site (and company) was bootstrapped by marketing folks.
  • The core of their site (the design submission) is powered by WeaverBox
  • Rysa (the magic elf behind FOD), loves baseball. Her kids, however, have taken a liking to Hockey. Oh well, what's a Mom to do :)
  • As a Mom, Rysa is transitioning her site and business to JavabeanHosting because she believes coffee, not woman in bikinis (ahem, GoDaddy), should represent web hosting.

The packaging

The packaging was great. Very compact and well padded. I walk about a half mile to and from the post office so carrying things can become awkward. Of course the size of the box depends on what you order so YMMV (your mileage may vary).

The Quality

Of course, the quality is top notch. The fabrics are thicker than any standard t-shirt that I have found lately in any retail store. This includes J-Crew, Banana Republic or H&M. Not only is the quality better, but the design actually has meaning! Check out how detailed the JavabeanHosting logo is.

Mugs? OMG Yes!

I was pleasantly surprised by this. Rysa sent me a couple of mugs to help encourage my already bad coffee addiction. I pretty much always have a mug of coffee by my side. Now, I'll be sporting one of these bad boys to the brim with my "coffee of the month." Cheers Rysa!

Thanks again FabricOnDemand for the high quality custom prints. The shirts (and mugs) came out great. You can also follow FabricOnDemand at @FabricOnDemand.
